I am grateful for my family. A man whom I highly respect and admire once told me that my family would open the way for me to have many friends. He failed to warn me that they could also be a burden, for there are men in the church who long for polygamy. They look forward to going off to some far corner of the universe with wives and children to start a kingdom of their own. They are not satisfied with the idea of living on a celestialized Earth where they will have to share the inheritance reserved for Abraham and his seed with other celestial beings. They look beyond the mark for something more. Some of these brethren are jealous of my family and don’t believe that I deserve them. Some of them are willing to try to drive me out of the church in the hopes that my family might be assigned to them in their own personal Celestial Kingdom. Such men are placing their salvation in jeopardy, for if the many efforts they make to advance the Kingdom of God are because of their desires to be rewarded with many wives rather than for their love of righteousness, they shall suffer loss.

LETTER TO GOVERNOR BROWN ABOUT SHARIA LAW AND 7th GRADE TEXT BOOK PROMOTING ISLAM

December 16th, 2017

December 11, 2017

Elk Grove, CA 95624

Governor Edward G. Brown
c/o State Capitol, Suite 1173
Sacramento, CA 95814

Dear Governor,

Did you know that Sharia Law is the source of honor killings, vigilante justice, an extreme version of gender bias aimed at females of all ages, and dangerous religious intolerance? Governor, those evils come from the Hadith and biographies of Muhammad, not the Koran.

Did you know that the Koran contains encouragement for Muslims who wish to live in peace with peoples of other religions? This, in spite of what some anti Islam speakers will tell you.

Did you know that Islam is being promoted in our public schools with the help of the social studies text book for seventh graders?

ATONEMENT AND RECONCILIATION

October 26th, 2017

It appears to me that the latest definitions of “atonement” are bringing us to a new understanding of the nature of God. A while back one of the influential high priests in my ward announced his thought that when those of us who are baptized sin again it causes the Savior to have to suffer some more in the Garden. He said the Lord can do that because he is not limited by time so He can go back to the Garden and suffer some more. It seems to me that if that is true the Lord will not have time for any other errands.

THE HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN AND THE FOUNTAIN CLEAR AS CRYSTAL

September 27th, 2017

When we, as members of the LDS. Church hear the phrase, “turning the hearts of the children to the fathers ...”, we naturally think of genealogy research and temple work for the dead. But, do we think of Leviticus 26:40-46 wherein the Lord promises the Children of Israel that He will remember his covenant with them when they confess their sins and the sins of their fathers? Do we think of the latter-day sins of the saints which caused our ancestors to be scourged from city to city until they had to settle in the Utah Territory. Because we held on to our racist theories our temples could not become houses of prayer for all peoples, as foretold by Isaiah, until 1978 when the priesthood finally became available to men of all races?

JOSEPH SMITH AND LOOKING BEYOND THE MARK

August 11th, 2017

When Joseph Smith attempted to settle the Saints in Missouri and build the city of New Jerusalem was he looking beyond the Mark? I ask the question because the Lord, during his earthly ministry, told us with the parable of the wheat and the tares that until the time of the destruction of the wicked the wheat and tares should grow together.
