Please buy the book to get the full story. Will the Real Mormons Stand Up and Sound the Alarm? is an attack on the foundations of racism and polygamy in the LDS Church. It also provides a brief history of the church and a brief account of my life in the church. I hope those of you who read the rough draft of the book which was seen in my blog will obtain a copy of the book because the rough draft was missing some key chapters and it was merely a rough draft.
When angels delivered the gold plates to Joseph Smith he was only allowed to translate one third of the plates with the promise that if the saints would show that they believed that which they received first they would be allowed to have the rest of the Book of Mormon. Instead they received the Books of Abraham and Moses in the Pearl of Great Price. Racists found justification for withholding the priesthood from blacks of African descent in the books of Abraham and Moses. The Book of Abraham also gave some comfort to polygamists while the Book of Mormon clearly condemns polygamy as an abomination. A recent essay on Race and the Priesthood, shown on the LDS web site, insists that justification for making the Priesthood available to men of all races rests in Book of Mormon and New Testament verses thus rejecting the idea that the PEARL OF GREAT PRICE provided credible justification for the practice of withholding the priesthood from otherwise worthy men based merely on their blood line.
